CURRENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:  MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

The Athens Housing Authority is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic position.

Position performs semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with repairs to and maintenance of buildings and grounds requiring many skills found at the journeyman level such as carpentry for woodwork repairs, plumbing repairs, electrical and painting work.

Successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and manual skills in repairing items including plumbing and heating valves and pipes, electrical switches, stoves, and refrigerators; windows, doors, and other wood materials, and mechanical equipment. HVAC certification desirable.  Experience essential.  Full benefit package offered.

Applicant must hold a valid Georgia Driver’s license, must pass background checks, physical and drug screening and be bondable and insurable by the Authority’s insurance carrier.

Beginning Salary:  $19.03 p/h +       Dependent upon Experience

Uniforms provided.  Full benefit package offered.
